Grupo La Esencia
The international
Salsa formation around the South American singer Guillermo Valencia has been
existing for the past three years and in this time has made a name to itself
with numerous concerts.
Their recipe for success consists in particular of the varied and audience close repertoire with modern and traditional Salsa compositions, Cumbia, Merengue and Boleros in the original versions and own arrangements.
Slowly but surely this band has created its own image with the increasing number of own compositions of which four recently appeared on the CD "Para Los Salseros".
The band casting follows the best Salsa tradition:
- A three-headed percussion-section, developed in Cuba and Venezuela, is responsible for the "pulse-beat" of the music. The musicians play "Mainstream Salsa" just as authentic as complicated Cuban and Puertorican rhythms. This, they have already proofed with famous bands such as "Conexion Latina" and "Orquesta Alka Salsa ".
- The singing horn-section, consisting of two trumpets and a trombone, can look back at a common long-standing Salsa-Big Band and Combo experience and appears as a chorus.
- The Salsa-Sound is rounded down by piano and bass, played by two "full blood-Salseros", which in the Rhein-Main area and with bands like "Hamid Baroudi" and "Alka Salsa" look after the harmonic basis.
The burning flame in this formation is the thrilling lead-singing of Guillermo Valencia, who is in his Caribbean native country, but also in Germany, a popular "Sonero". He is supported by Yohanca from Cuba, living and singing Salsa-music from childhood on.
